The BryMar team was out at the Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Run bright and early on Sunday morning, showing up to support our wonderful client, the Senior Coastsiders. This local 5K and 10K event is a long-standing tradition in the community, with a scenic course along the stunning Coastal Trail overlooking the Pacific Ocean. This year’s event marked a historical milestone as it was completely sold out, raising an impressive $6,676.71 for Senior Coastsiders’ programs and services!
In the words of our Senior Manager, Jill, “It’s such a privilege to join forces for an event like this. This run wasn’t just a milestone for the Senior Coastsiders—it was a personal one for me too! My first official 5K is in the books, and I couldn’t have asked for a better cause or group of people to share it with.”
Even those on our team who couldn’t make it to Half Moon Bay found their own ways to join the fun. Jane, for example, went for a spirited 5K with her dogs, taking in the Halloween decorations along her neighborhood route. Meanwhile, Ben enjoyed a sunny run close to home, and Kelleigh brought along her loyal companion, Groot (her dog), for a playful jog.
A Day of Wins: Big and Small
Our team didn’t just show up—they showed out on race day! BryMar’s Supervising Senior, Alex, placed second in her age group in the 10K. "Running along the coast with such breathtaking views was amazing, but the best part was sharing that experience with my BryMar teammates. Being together in such a beautiful place for a cause we all care about made it unforgettable.” shared Alex, reflecting on her experience.
Senior Coastsiders, a beloved non-profit that enriches the lives of seniors along the Coastside, was the real champion of the day. This organization tirelessly provides resources, support, and a sense of belonging for older adults from Montara to Pescadero and Skyline to the Sea. Every dollar raised from the Pumpkin Run goes directly to their programs, which include daily lunch, caregiver support, classes, Meals on Wheels, and much more.
Celebrating Community, Togetherness, and Tradition
The Pumpkin Run has been a cherished tradition in Half Moon Bay for over 40 years and seeing the community’s support grow stronger each year is truly inspiring. The outpouring of love for the Senior Coastsiders was evident not only in the record-breaking turnout but also in the joy shared by all the participants on the day of the event.
